We wake up with the news of Osama Bin Laden! Willie, Hugo and Andrej go to the central market to buy a tarp to wrap our bags on the roof. Our clothes got wet several times and it will be rainy season as we travel south through Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. I frustrate myself to death with the less-wire internet, finally give up and go to our room to read and work on blog updates.
The guys come back with a bright orange tarp and wild stories about the Mercato – ill-famous for its pickpocketers and thieves. 30 seconds after Willie and Hugo left, armed with steel bars, Andrej noticed a guy standing by the car. After he has studied the stuff on the roof he signaled to someone across the street. When the other guy arrived Andrej coolly got out of the car with his bar and walked around it inspecting the rooftop carrier. The 2 guys quickly disappeared without a word!
We spent another couple of nerve-wrecking hours trying the internet, give up and go to bed. The only story on BBC for the last 8 hours is the news about Osama!
